The idea of creating a virtual community of practice was first raised in October 2008 --the need to create a place for discussion was frequently mentioned at various meetings of those working in maternal and child health (nurses, nutritionists, community health representatives, etc.).
Since First Nations communities are found throughout Quebec, bringing together workers on a regular basis is difficult and quite expensive. The object of this web site initiative is to make it easier to transfer knowledge among members.
With the virtual community of practice,
- you can GET TOGETHER WITH COLLEAGUES WITHOUT EVEN HAVING TO LEAVE YOUR DESK
- KEEP UP TO DATE AND LEARN HOW TO APPLY YOUR KNOWLEDGE
- you can COLLABORATE TO BETTER SUPPORT MEMBERS OF YOUR COMMUNITY
and much more!
A virtual community of practice brings together people who want to learn from each other by sharing their experiences. For additional information on virtual communities (in French), click this link.
